Each April, the Grand Ceremony of the Airing of the Sacred Treasures (Goreiho-mushibarai-e Ceremony) is conducted at the Head Temple Taisekiji in Japan. A great number of extremely important treasures, Gohonzons and Goshos, have been preserved by the priesthood over the past 750+ years. Once a year, great care must be taken to expel moisture and harmful insects from these treasures so that they may be passed on to later generations far into the future.
Several members from Myosenji Temple are leaving this week to attend the Airing of the Sacred Treasures Ceremony and make a pilgrimage to the Head Temple, Taisekiji. They will be joining thousands of believers from around the world at the Head Temple. This inspiring ceremony provides a chance for the many participating worshipers to deepen their faith.
