Receive the Buddhist Precept

Our Chief Priest performs the Acceptance of the Precept Ceremony (called Gojukai in Japanese) to become a Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist and begin your Buddhist practice. If you have decided to receive the Acceptance of the Precept Ceremony, please download the application form, complete it and email to the Temple. You can also call (301-596-9397), text (240-681-9397) or email myosenjitemple@gmail.com to get started on your Buddhist journey.

Your ceremony must be conducted by a Nichiren Shoshu Priest. Our Chief Priest, Rev Sakabe, will be in touch with you to make arrangements for your ceremony.
