“Our earthly desires cause us to create karma, and that karma brings about suffering. We try to escape suffering and thus, act on our other earthly desires. The cycle continues in this way, and we are unable to extricate ourselves from suffering. This cycle is called the three paths of earthly desire, karma, and suffering.”
Excerpted from “Transforming the Three Paths into the Three Virtues” Nichiren Shoshu Monthly, September, 2012, p.7
To learn more about the concept of Karma, join us on Sunday, October 7th for an Introduction to Buddhism meeting. The meeting begins at 11:20 am (not a typo:) – we’ll start right after our morning prayers). This meeting is open to the public.
If you have any questions, please contact us. Hope to see you Sunday!
