What Do Buddhist Prayer Beads Have to Do with Karma?

Buddhist Prayer Beads

What is Karma?

noun: karma

  • internal causes residing in the depths of life that manifest themselves as conspicuous effects when external causes or conditions are encountered.

informal

  • following as effect from cause

The Buddhist concept of karma explains why things happen to you the way they do.  Nichiren Shoshu Buddhists use prayer beads as part of their daily practice of chanting and sutra recitation to change their karma.

On Sunday, July 27th, at 2:00 pm, our Chief Priest, Rev. Murata lectures on Karma, Buddhism and how you can take control of your life by chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.  If you live in the Washington, DC region, please join us on Sunday. We will be web casting the meeting for members and guests in southern PA, NC, SC, GA, FL … if you’d like to join a web cast at a local member location, please call or email the Temple.
