Buddhism: Listening to Change Your Karma

By all means, approach the priest who knows the heart of this sutra. Listen to what he preaches about the truth of this Law and proceed in your journey of faith.

written by Nichiren Daishonin, 13th century Japan

The benefits of listening to and absorbing true Buddhism are immeasurably great. In his Lecture on the Juryo Chapter (in the Lotus Sutra), Twenty-Sixth High Priest Nichikan Shonin explains this in the following way:  Without fail, faith develops from listening. Even if there are those who do not develop faith, as long as they listen, they will receive immeasurable benefits.

When our practice for ourselves is perfectly fulfilled, then the practice for others is established without fail. The practice for others is none other than compassion.

written by Nichiren Daishonin, 13th century Japan

Out of great compassion, Nichiren Daishonin established the true teaching of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, in order to save all the people in the Latter Day of the Law (today), who have no knowledge of true Buddhism and therefore are suffering from the negative karma of their own slanderous deeds.
