Having compassion for yourself and others is a fundamental Buddhist teaching. However, we cannot easily summon deep compassion from within ourselves because our lives are stained by the three poisons of greed, anger and ignorance.* Through our thoughts, speech and actions, we create karma that blocks our ability to be a compassionate person.
This Sunday, May 17th, visit Myosenji Temple for a lecture on Karma and Buddhism. You will learn from our Chief Priest why what you think, say and do is critical to your happiness and your ability to be a compassionate person. The meeting begins at 2:00 pm. Call or email the Temple if you have questions.
